Dublin City Centre
A major attraction of Dublin is its City centre.
At the heart of the City Centre is O’Connell Street which was created in 1790.
At that time, Sackville Mall, as it was known then, had the reputation of being one of the finest thoroughfares in Europe.
Sackville Mall was named after Lionel Cranfield Sackville, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in the early 1700s.
The southern end of O’Connell Street abuts the River Liffey & Sackville Mall was just part of a grand thoroughfare encompassing College Green, Dame Street & finishing at Dublin Castle.
Grafton Street, the most elegant shopping these days in Dublin, is close to the City Centre.
Grafton Street is located just off this grand thoroughfare & very close to Trinity College Dublin. Dublin is an exciting centre of culture, art, history and shopping. All of this is located close to the heart of Dublin City – Dublin City Centre. |
